About Us

Guiding The Young Generation To Success.

Operating since 2016, Eden Academy Early Learning Centre provides quality early childhood education through its three year old and four year old group kindergarten programs. Our primary focus is the wellbeing of every child. We provide our children the attention they need to grow and develop into happy, healthy people and be confident for school.

Our Vision

We acknowledge that all members of our community including children, families and teachers have rights and all interactions.

Our Mission

Eden Academy is a vibrant learning community where families, staff and The University of Queensland work together.

Our Philosophy

All children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the nation” – ‘The council of Australian Governments vision’ – (EYLF P.5) At Eden Academy our goal is to provide children with a strong positive foundation that covers every area of their development. In order to achieve this, we must first understand children, how they learn and how they develop. By following the principles and practices of the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – ‘Being, Belonging and Becoming’, the National Quality Standards, understanding and applying the rights of the child under the United Nations Conventions and also understanding and applying theoretical perspectives, it is absolutely possible to accomplish this goal.

At Eden Academy, we spend time getting to know each child. We take the time in building and nurturing positive relationships. We believe that regardless of their abilities, special needs, diverse & cultural backgrounds, children need to be valued as individuals. We are committed to equity and believe in all children’s capacity to succeed. We believe, by forming relationships with children and families, this has a significant effect on children’s involvement and success in learning (EYLF. P.9).

Children progress well when their parents and educators hold high expectations for their achievement in learning (EYLF. P.9). Therefore, we create partnerships with families and work together to support their child’s learning. We also collaborate with families about curriculum decisions in order to ensure that learning experiences are meaningful. Urie Brofenbrenner (1917) helps us understand the importance of fostering positive relationships with children and their families. He states, "The way we interact with and support families will affect their children’s development”.
We believe that reflection and communication are vital components in running a successful childcare service. We promote professional and personal growth amongst each other as staff members. We reflect daily, are open for discussion, contribute in shared decision-making & are always looking for ways of improvement. We develop our curriculum based on our beliefs & values in our philosophy to improve our practices. We are always open to suggestions from all stakeholders at Eden Academy. We respect and celebrate each other’s success as a team.
